This is 13 lesson (44 pages) workbook is intended to help
students understand God's plan for His people as they work and
worship together in local churches. After an overview of what
New Testament churches were intended to be, the material looks
at the development of Roman Catholicism and the Protestant
Reformation. The Restoration Movement is studied with an
emphasis on understanding Bible authority and the issues of
instrumental music and the missionary society. There are also
three lessons dealing with the institutional and "social
gospel" questions that arose in the 1950s and 1960s.
While the material helps students
understand the historical perspective of various questions and
issues that have arisen through the centuries, it is a biblical
study that stresses doing things God's way and seeks to
avoid anything that would make the Restoration Movement or any
other "movement" our authority.
While the 13 lessons can be
studied in one quarter, the material could easily be adapted for
a 26 lesson study. A "teacher's manual" is not
currently available, but it may be in the future.
